Overview

Andre is a 39 year old augmented man, who works as a doctor. He used to serve as a infantry medic during a brief military service.

Personality

Andre likes helping people, his son, turtlenecks, small café's, and coffee. He dislikes being considered "disabled", spiders, heights, tea and carrots.

He has an issue with mis-hearing things said if he's not fully paying attention. Usually what he thinks he hears is something 'dirty'. Cue him being easily flustered.

He misses being able to actually feel the things he touches with his hands, other than just engineered pressure to tell him he's "touching" something.

His fear of heights began when his brother almost pushed him off a balcony when they were kids, so now he hates anything higher than a two-story building.

History

It is unknown whether any of this information was intentional by the original artist, as there are discrepancies, as mentioned in the Trivia section below. There seems to be also no mention of Deus Ex aside from the mention of prosthetic limbs and the aesthetic design, despite having been tagged as Deus Ex original character.

Jonvier was raised in a typical, loving household, with a mother, father, and the annoying-but-self-proclaimed-best-role-model-ever older brother. Perhaps it was his brother's shenanigans that caused Jon to be as soft-spoken as he is today. He was always watching his older brother traipse into adulthood, and his parents fumbling trying to adapt to his newfound freedoms and urges, and thus always getting him into trouble. Jon would take this in and try his best to not do those things that got his brother into trouble.

It wasn't until he was a teen that he got his first girlfriend, a local girl he had long admired until his brother outed his feelings for her and thoroughly embarrassed Jon in the process. Sadly, it seemed that his desire to please her was still much greater than her's was. She once made a comment that she really liked guys that fought for their country, the ones that went off into the military. It was a move he made out of pure love, but he did it: once he was able, he served his country, because she kept dropping the hint that she wanted him to. He didn't join the infantry, however; instead opting for becoming a field medic. He liked the idea of becoming a doctor one day anyway, and assumed she would like him even more for being that willing to save the lives of his comrades. But it only seemed to annoy her. She called him a coward and admitted to sleeping numerous times with his older brother before dumping Jon over the phone, leaving him lost and alone in a combat zone.

He stumbled in life for a very brief moment before finding a firmer focus in his new career. He went on to save many lives and received several medals during his service before it ended in disaster. One minute he was dragging a comrade to a safe spot to give medical aid, the next, he was waking up in a hospital bed himself. Confused and unsure of what happened, he tried to sit up... but he couldn't. Not with his arms. It was explained to him that he had been deep in the explosion radius of a granade thrown at just the "right" spot at just the "right" time, leaving his arms mangled to the point of having to be completely removed. His legs were a little banged up, but at least they were fine. Nevertheless, he was devastated. What would he do with no arms? What could he do?

He spent a very, very, long time there, where the military officers he served under took pity on him, pulled some strings, and convinced the "higher powers" to give him high-quality prosthetic arms. He spent a lot of time in physical therapy learning to use them until they felt he had mastered them enough to survive in the civilian world again. And he did. He went to school to become a proper doctor, and several years of studying, frustration, and exams later, he finally became one. During his time in university, he only went to parties when he was invited to go along with some classmates; he was still very much the quiet-type. Save for one night he went to a club with colleagues he had been working with for over a year, when the alcohol made him quite confident - enough to woo a lady and take her home with him. By the time he woke and had to face a horrible hangover, she had left, leaving the naked Jon and used condoms as the only traces of her presence.

A year later, the barely-familiar face came knocking on his door and thrust a box into his arms before dropping a car seat on top of it. Suddenly, he was caring for a baby he had no idea he had ever helped create. He still has no idea what he's doing, but he is doing his best to keep up with his new son, stumbling all the way, just like his parents had with his older brother.

• The character biography provided states that he had a girlfriend and has had a few sexual encounters with women, but his character profile describes he is also homosexual. It is unknown whether that was an oversight or intentional.
• The character's name was later changed to Jonvier "Jon" Dubois when the creator put him up for adoption for the price of $150 on Toyhou.se. It's uncertain if the new owner, InQy, changed the characters name, or if this was a decision made by Smooshkin to emphasize his French origin.
