Overview

Dr. Gillian Emily Thorndale is the CEO of Thorndale Industries. Working closely with her romantic partner, Bob Page, the two orchestrate many of the significant events that end up influencing the world.

Personality

In her free time, she enjoys Laying in her hammock and enjoying a good book or mission reports. She is also intellectually curious and likes going on Wikipedia to hot the random button and reading whatever article that shoes up. With her interest in mathematics, she enjoys coming up with numerical puzzles for her crypto team and solving the ones they make for her.

Gillian has an aversion towards deep water, sickness, social interaction and fighting, being forgotten, and having their own family.

Documented fears include close relationships; particularly being touched and the prospect of being betrayed by another. Other things that scare her include the unknown and the future, failure and loss--particularly loss of control and numbness, and cramped spaces and poverty. Her worse phobia, however, is athazagoraphobia, which causes her to have a deep fear of being forgotten.

Unusually, intimate actions, allies, alcohol, and war entice her as much as they unnerve her.

History

Gillian’s family, the Thorndales, are a very old Templar family and are tied to the Illuminati since its foundation in 1776. The family always had a seat in the Council.

Thomas, Gillian’s father, was a member of the Council until he died in 2014. Volkard Rand took his place since Gillian was too young.

It is possible that Rand was just a place holder for Gillian until she is “ready”. She would be in her late 30s in this time period and was groomed for this role, just like Beth. And she has a “birthright”. Gillian is respected within the Council and has Morgan and Stanton as her allies (who would be probably be interested in her having a seat and another ally as well). Lucius trusts her as well and was one of the people who influenced her since childhood.

Timeline

Gillian wanted to have Namir’s family killed because she was convinced having such ties as a merciless mercenary was nothing but a burden. She wanted the tyrants to be mindless killers who obeyed like trained dogs--no additional strings attached.

She deeply regrets not seeing Darrow's betraying coming.

Gillian actually likes to go to Comic Cons, but only a handful of people know that. When she attends as a guest and not as exhibitor, she always wears full makeup costumes so that her face is completely concealed and no one is able to recognize her. Robert and Gillian once attended the London Comic Con as a Romulan couple.
