About Me
Big fan of Deus Ex for over 10 years, witnessed major milestones for the franchise and the community, but was more like a fly on the wall instead of directly contributing. Trying to make up for that hesitation now with this archive, as I regret failing to seize the opportunity to communicate with and collaborate with others on a franchise I love so much.
My interest in Deus Ex is more than just archiving and extracting stuff, I produced art, music, writing, videos, Ren'Py visual novel games, clothes, 3D models, game mods, websites, and some other stuff based on or inspired by Deus Ex. It's quite literally been my main interest for most of my adult life, stimulating me with a passion which allowed me to learn many skills that ended up serving me well outside of this bubble.
HARDWIR3D
For the longest time, I was intensely obsessed with Francis Pritchard, in a very introverted and closed-off sort of way, perhaps even to an unhealthy degree. It goes without saying that most of my work was inspired by or direct homages to him. However, due to a recent unfortunate event that has left me quite numb, I have been unable to feel the same way as I did towards the character.
Ever since, I've lacked the motivation or drive to keep working on HARDWIR3D—featuring Frank and my OCs—a fanfiction that I had been developing since November 2016 after experiencing a dream where Frank was apprehended by FEMA following the Breach event in System Rift.
Jacynthia was originally a placeholder character, imagined as an off-shoot of myself, as the dream that inspired the story was from the first-person perspective. But over the years she deviated drastically from the source and became a character in her own right.
Following that logic, I don't consider her a self-insert, as I do not identify with the character's personality nor appearance; she became more of a character study on how suffering corrupts one's perspective, leading to toxic coping mechanisms that only cause suffering in the end for everyone involved. Definitely not a person anyone should want to embody or emulate...there is no happy ending to be found.
