Overview

Nova Syn was born Ilana Sarif, the unacknowledged daughter of David Sarif, the visionary CEO of Sarif Industries.

History

Nova was conceived during a covert relationship with a blacklisted anti-augmentation geneticist. Nova was a secret liability to a man trying to build a clean, transhuman legacy. Her existence threatened to exposed Sarif's hypocritical past--so she was erased from the official record, handing off to a surrogate and quietly forgotten.

But the child didn't vanish. She grew up on the periphery of Detroit's D-Row, scavenging in the shadows of the very corporation that exiled her. The Neon skyline was a constantly reminds of the man who denied her name, blood, and future.

As a teenager, Nova was drawn into the black-market augmentation scene. With a hacked cortical stack and an unstable neurokinetic rig embedded into her spine, she developed a unique ability to intercept and hijack augmented motor impulses from a distance--a living feedback loop against the transhuman elite. She became a ghost in the grid, known only by her street name: Syn.

Timeline

2020's

When whispers of a hidden AI protocol linked to the original Panchaea resurfaces, Nova discovered that fragments of it were buried deep without Sarif Industries' servers--and within her own DNA. He mother had encoded part of the rogue AI's consciousness into Nova as a baby, using her as a living carrier to preserve its sentient code from global deletion.

Now hunted by corporate assassins and anti-aug extremists alike, Nova Syn walks the line between weapon and anomaly. She doesn't want power. She wants the truth. About the AI inside her. About her father. About whether redemption exists in a world built on synthetic lies.
